BMW launches all-new X3 from Rs 49.99 lakh
After its unveiling at the 2018 Auto Expo, BMW has now launched the new X3 with a starting price tag of Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the xDrive 20d Expedition variant. The third-generation model of the premium mid-sized SUV comes in two diesel variants and the higher xDrive 20d Luxury Line has been priced at Rs 56.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design changes
Most of the major changes in the design can be observed from the front, including larger kidney-grille and curved headlamps. Other highlights of the new BMW X3 are a higher roofline and redesigned tail lamps with a new signature light.
Under the hood
At the heart of the BMW X3, xDrive 20d sits a 2.0-litre engine with Twin Power Turbo technology. The motor produces 190PS of power and 400Nm of torque, and it comes mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The car claims to do a 0-100kmph sprint in eight seconds.
Cut to size
Based on a new platform, the SUV gets bigger with a wheelbase of 2.8-metre and 4.7-metre of length. The weight, however, is 55kg lesser when compared to the previous generation model. BMW also claims to offer best-in-class boot space with a capacity of 550-litre, which can be further expanded up to 1600-litre by folding 40:20:40 split rear seat.
New BMW X3 features
The interior too gets new updates while following the signature BMW style. The new X3 gets a bigger floating touchscreen for the infotainment system and the dual-zone climate control now becomes standard. The ventilated front and the rear seats, however, comes with an optional extra feature.
The car comes loaded with advanced, high-tech electronic features and safety and it competed with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Jaguar F-Pace and the Volvo
